    Default Crete: Paleohora and Frangocastelo?

    Hi
we are planning a trip to Crete in September and aim to spend some time
in the south. Two places seem interesting - Paleohora and Frangocastelo.
We want a place to chill out, with the option of some walking - canyons
    and coast.
If you know either of these places, we would be grateful for any
    information.
Thanks in advance for any help.
    Paul.

    Paleochora is very nice village.
In the surroundings you can walk/swim.
Frangocastello is not that interesting, but it's nice to see it once and
then move on to the canyon nearby.
You can find all these things on a map and take a loke at Google earth.

    Have fun

Paleohora is a nice little town. There's a sandy beach and and little beach
    with stones.
At the end of the stones beach there's a nice little open air restaurant.
Try the stifado, if they announce! (it's better to make a reservation
    directly when they announce stifado).
From Paleohora you can make a hike to Sougia (via Lisos).
    That's 17 kms in about 4 hrs.
Better is the hike from Krios beach to Elafonisi. 9 kms and 3 hrs.
