Default 1997 GMC Pontiac Grand Am - Abs code scanner and front hub problems

I have a 97 Grand Am and I am looking for a resonable priced ABS code
scanner does anyone have any suggestion because I purchased the actron
cp9449 and it won't read the 97 Grand AM.
I am also wondering what is the best way to check to see on this 97 Grand
Am which one of the front wheel hub is gone I feel some shaking and howling
while driving coming from the front of the car

The Acton should work on your car. What are you trying to scan - engine
codes, ABS codes? These will only scan engine codes so if you're trying to
scan ABS codes, you'll need to spend a ton more money.

To determine the bad wheel bearing, turn the car to both sides quite
aggressively while driving along. Turning to one side will aggravate the
noise - the bearing that is bad is on the side opposite the direction of
    your turn.

This actron scanner is made especially for abs and brake systems but like I
said not for the 97 Grand Am it will read 98 and up for the Grand Am
Thanks for the advice on the bearing I will try that maybe that is cause the
    light to come on
