Default Ireland with pet

We'd like to visit Ireland (Rep.) this summer, and are used to taking our
dog along. What is the general policy towards allowing dogs into pubs,
restaurants?

Thanks for your reaction. Our dog complies with the PET travel scheme, so
he's allowed into UK and therefore also in Rep. of Ireland.
