All Inclusive Holidays

My son is getting married next year and is looking at an 'All Inclusive'
holiday in Barbados for his honeymoon.

I've heard bad reports on these all inclusive deals anyone got any
experience of them ?

I have heard mixed reports on them. My brother was recently at an all
inclusive in Cuba and was not impressed. That is in line with other reports
from Cuba. Last year he went to an all inclusive in Quosemel <sp?> Mexico
and had nothing but praise for the place.

Not in Barbados, but we went all inclusive to Malta last year and we
thought it was well worth it (particularly for lunch and
ice-cream/drinks by the pool)-- didn't stop us going out and about when
we felt like it, but was well handy when we didn't. Going to do the
same in Rhodes this year...

Well, he did say typically rather than exclusively, and I am inclined to
agree with him. They tend to be isolated from the local communities,
luxury resorts that are often off limits to the local residents. They offer
all the amenities of home with a slight local flavour. They are the perfect
place for people who want to sit around, and eat and drink a lot.

They are great for knowing exactly what your holiday will cost before you
go, and not being surprised by the price of drinks (soft as well as
alcoholic) or the hire of a wind-surfer for an hour.
