Default Greek Ferry Service

I will be traveling to Athens in Sept.04 and want to take the Ferry
from Piraeus to Mykonos. How do I go about doing this? Does anyone
have any suggestions? Thanks

Hi.
Be aware if you take one of the usual ferries which are pretty large ships,
it won't be possible (usually) to get any help with your baggage. So, you
should plan on being able to take your bags up a couple of REALLY long steep
stairways yourself.
We have always gone first class, which gives you a room with a shower, but
costs about triple. Still fairly reasonable. Otherwise, you're sitting on
a chair somewhere for the entire trip. Doesn't sound too bad, but by the
end of most trips that I've been on, everyone looks pretty miserable. Very
few seem to go 1st class in spite of that. I can't remember a trip where we
weren't almost alone in the cabin section.
Also, the 1st class lounge can be jammed in spite of what I just said. I
think it's because people who have cars can use it.
Hope this is helpful.
Bruce

Easy, you DO NOT Need a reservation as opposed to what some one else
said. Just go to the dock early knowing when the boat leaves get a
ticket and go! The subway in Athens goes right to the dock! Go Blue Star
ferrys, my favourite, for a regular(out on the deck lounging) trip or if
you prefer take the high speeds faster BUT (stuck inside)! You will go
to Paros first(5hrs) no doubt then on to Mykinos in a couple of hours.
