| | Guest | Athens, Greece Hey,
I have several questions i would like help with. Thanks in advance.
I was wondering what are the main tourist attractions in Athens?.
Is the nightlife any good?.
Also are there any hotels anybody can reccommend?.
What is the mian railway station in Athens?.
Is public transport any good in Athens?.
Where are the best places to eat in Athens?
Do tickets for AEK Athens sell-out normally or are they normally
available to buy on the day of the game?.
Many Thanks,

Parthenon, Plaka, Lykavitos, National Archeological Museum (when it opens
again), Byzantine Myseum

Larissis Station in dowtown Athens. Trains aren't exactly cutting edge but
they get you around.
> Is public transport any good in Athens?.
The new Metro is great. Over ground transportation is subject to traffic
jams and rush hour crowds however the new light rail should offer relief.

You can't be serious! AEK may be relegated to amateur status after its
financial misdeeds unfold. Of course you do know that the season is over.
On the other hand stadiums in any of the Division I games rarely if ever get
filled.

The gyros are not bad in the Plaka. | |

| | Guest | Athens, Greece Hello,
I am considering visiting Athens for the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest
Final which takes place on 20th May 2006. The final will be held at the
Olympic Indoor Hall, part of the OAKA complex. The venue is situated
right next to the Olympic stadium. I was wondering if anybody could
possibly recommend any hotels either near the venue or in the City
Centre. I am not to worried about the price budget although i dont want
to spend hundreds of pounds on a room.
I found on a website that the metro is the best way to get to the arena
from the city centre, a journey which takes 25 minutes to the "Irini"
station. From there it is a 5 minute walk through the Olympic Complex
to the Indoor Arena. Could anybody please tell me the wheither the
metro runs into the night from the venue back to the city centre.
Many Thanks. | |
