Default Best country for $US?

Where might be the best place to take a vacation and get a favorable USD
exchange rate?

Any Country with which the USA has a fixed exchange rate. I believe that Japan
currently falls into that category.

Are you expecting a reply regarding europe only. In that case I would
say Romania. Or perhaps Serbia or Bulgaria or even Turkey.

If you mean anywhere probably Mexico.

Bolivia. You can get a huge steak dinner -- with loads of yucca on
the side and a couple of beers -- for around $8.

Japan is one of the most expensive countries for someone from the USA to
travel to. I do not believe they tie their yen to the dollar.

Countries that float their money to the US dollar are indeed the best
bet. Most are Asian and Latin America countries. These include India,
Thailand, China, Malaysia and any south Asian country or Indian
subcontinent.

Also look look at Belize, Barbados, Bermuda, Mexico, Honduras or
Argentina for the best deals for the US dollar. Panama and Ecuador use
the U.S. dollar as their currency.

How about the good ole US of A?

The US$ won't go very far in western Europe, but you can get good
value in some central and easter European countries. It's not only the
exchange rate which should interest you; you should take price levels
into account.

Here are some USA price comparisons (I'm not in a big city):

Big Mac: - I think around $2.50 (don't eat at McDonald's)
1/2 Gallon milk: $1.89 (this is about 2 liters I think)
bottle of shampoo: starts at $0.99
microwave lasagna: starting at around $2.40
bus fare: (hehe, no busses here), but probably about $1.50 in most
places
blank 6 hour VHS tape: $2.70 (8 hr. tape = ~$3.60)
DVD player prices look similar

DVD Players in the USA start at about $30 for brands such as APEX. I
just bought a new 7 disk JVC player for $60. They've come way down. I
found almost all electronic goods very expensive in the UK. Not sure
how their prices compare with other parts of western europe.

In Norway you spend 1000000000000000 kronor to get a smörrebröd.
