From some of the things that O'Leary said, it is clear that any decision to
close will be made purely on financial grounds, without any concern about
the effect on passengers. As continuing some routes is going to depend on
their performance over the coming months, IMO it is probable that tickets
will be sold right up to the time when a definite closure date is announced.
Obviously, tickets sold for a later date will be refunded, but that will
leave people with the task of finding an alternative route much closer to
the time, when everybody's tickets are dearer.

Which of course creates a self-fulfilling prophecy, people don't buy
tickets in case the route closes before they get to fly and the route closes
because people don't buy tickets. It can't cost much for them to
transfer pax to a nearby airport (Eindhoven or Neiderrhein in this case)
and then transfer them on a bus, but will they?
(no answers are necessary)

Which is not enough. They should sell tickets in advance for flights
that will exist. For flights they are not sure about, they should decide
and start selling tickets later.

Michael Leary does just what he wants to and not what he "should" do.
That is the problem with Ryanair.
