| | Guest | Sardinia, looking for ideas Hi,
I'm travelling to Sardinia (Alghero) on 27 July for 14 days.
First 6 days chilling out in Porto Conte
Next 2 relaxing at Castelsardo
What to do with the next 6, esp considering I probably need to book in
Alghero for at least Sat 9th, maybe also Fri 8th.
Am maybe looking to travel to NE corner or the mountains, but looking for
some recs for hotels for 2-3 night stays. Will have a car, so reasonable
distances no problem. Also looking for some ideas of places to visit during
one or two of those days. We're a couple, happy to eat, drink and see
ancient and modern sites. All suggestions welcome and appreciated.Probably
planning to take in the green train trip on the Friday.
Thanks,
Tony | |

Thanks Calvin, I've been to Alghero before and went to Neptune's cave and
the Nuraghe; enjoyed them so much we're going back and may take in the cave
again. I can also recommend the small wildlife reserve called Noah's Ark on
the way to Neptune's steps (and don't underestimate how fit you need to be
to climb back up if it's hot!). Take a guided tour and you get some
spectacular scenery.
I'm really looking for some suggestions for about 100-150 km away from
Alghero, for our second week, especially a hotel or two.
Regards,

As well as the other suggestions, the NE coast has some great beaches
and scenery.
