Cairo airport getting visa

Any experience of getting an entry visa at
Cairo airport. Much of a delay?

as far as I know.. for many countries Egyptian Visa is just a stamp to
collect some money..

He/she asked whether it is a time consuming process or not....... I arrived
in Luxor last summer and it was a simple procedure to get a visa. However,
it is easy to assume that more the fellow travellers queuing for the bloody
stamp, the more it takes to get through.

5 minutes to buy the "stamp" at one of 3 booths.
The stamp costs USD15 or the equivalent in Euros, GBP, etc., but Egyptian
Pounds aren't accepted.
Then, depending on how many passengers have just arrived, from 5 to 30
minutes to clear immigration.

It's been 8 years since I was in Cairo, but as soon as I arrived at
the airport I had to fork over money for the visa. Same with Turkey.
