I must have passed through 300+ airports and have never failed to find an
ATM when I needed one.
The closest I came to not finding an ATM was at Indira Ghandi International
in Delhi. There is but a single ATM in the entire airport - which is
(in)conveniently hidden well away from public view.

Dziekuie, Michal!
Do you perhaps have access to a Warsaw Telephone Directory? There are some
dear friends, Henryk and Liliana Kamionka, with whom we have lost touch over
the years and have not been able to reach by mail..Perhaps they are listed
on the city directory. They are both electrical engineers. If you do have a
directory, I would appreciate very much if you would look them up in it for
me.
Thank you again,

I think you borrowed my script in its entirety.
Like you, the ancient sites were a must-see - but not even the offer of
sharing a free bath with Cleopatra in a tub full of 's milk could drag me
back to Egypt ever again.
It's the only place I've been to where the tips cost me nearly as much as
the holiday!

I can understand if nobody wants to bath in a tub filled with milk. Sounds
horrendous! I discovered Egypt decent. Certainly challenging and exotic. | |

I certainly was, as I asked for the location of an ATM at the airport
information desk and was told there were no ATMs at the airport. So I went
to a foreign currency booth and got $37. worth for my $50. Live and learn!

I can remember a very good stay in Cairo. Was at a nice small hotel
where the staff made their absolutely best for the guests.
About tipping , o.k a coin here or there but it's voluntarily and definitely
a fraction only of what you're supposed to tip in U.S
Just a small story : we were going to the station in the early morning and
one of the staff went out in the street to find a taxi. He found something
after a while and we went away, somewhat annoying was that the driver had a
friend travelling with him , we were 4 in the rear seat but we didn't
complain. At the station we asked for the price.
The driver was very surprised , he wasn't a taxi driver but the staff member
had asked him to drive us because we were in hurry..... !! We had some
trouble to convince the driver that we wanted him to forward some money to
his children. | |
