Travel time from Milan to Rome on the new Treno Alta Velocità will actually
be approx. 2h 25mins with an average speed of ca. 132mph.

It's 632km (old line ,slightly reduced in length when Milano-Florence opens)
so 3:30 isn't so bad.

What is the price of a round trip ticket though, comparable to a flight?

Any stops in that stretch?
