Default arriving early at the eurotunnel

I have made plans to visit Europe this summer and I am going through the
channel tunnel, which I have booked a standard fare with timed departures.
I have planned my travelling so I have plenty of time to get to the tunnel
(covering traffic jams etc)
I know if I turn up late they will put you on the next available shuttle
(and if more than 2 hours make you pay the difference in fares) but what
happens if I arrive early? Do they make you wait until the set time or fit
you into the next vacant slot (and then use my original slot for someone who
is late).

TIA

Andy

If you ask, they will usually let you change to an earlier one. But
they may try to persuade you to go to spend money in their shops.
