Default London hotel 3 weeks in Nov.

Questions on getting a London hotel for 3 weeks in Nov - near
University of London and Brit. Museum. Can we push the 2 twin beds
together and ask for king size sheets? Is it wise to pay for a studio
apt. with some kitchen appliances? Any suggestions for a good hotel?
Thanks.

You can ask.

In Dublin last summer I asked the hotel [1] if they had anything that I
could put on my bed other than the winter duvet they had supplied. The
(Polish) girl at the counter looked surprised that I had asked (is it really
that cold in Dublin every summer) and said No!

We've had the same problem with German hotels and with rented cottages in UK.
When we rent in UK we take an appropriate duvet with us. Odder still is the
bedding provided by P&O North Sea Ferries which is always too hot even with the
air conditioning set at minimum temperature.

I simply take the warm duvet out of the duvet cover, and use the cover
alone when it's warm. The duvet gets tossed in the corner. After a
couple of nights of this, whoever cleans the room gets the hint and
puts the duvet away.

I am not incapable of doing this, but there's a big temperature range for
which the duvet is too warm, and just the cover is too cold.

It was this part of the range that I was in in Dublin
