Default UK Tories float idea for travel restriction

I wonder how they could manage to enforce it? Ireland in particular
would pose a serious problem in enforcement.

Would they apply the restriction to foreign citizens resident in the UK?

Perhaps they could start with restricting business travel into as well
as out of the UK. And limit foreigners to only one UK visit in a
calendar year?

Wouldn't a limit on trips abroad just slightly contradict the principle of
freedom of circulation within the EU?

Those of us old enough to remember will recall the days of the Wilson
government when you were allowed to spend a maximum of 50 pounds a year
travelling outside of the UK.

As I remember you were only permitted to take 50 pounds abroad. You
could spend whatever else you could find.

So all the extra "foreign" trips would have to be on separate tickets
from CDG or Dublin?

restrictions....
