traveling to Norway with children

My wife and I are planning to travel to Norway this summer with our
children (5 & 8). The problem we're having is finding hotels where we
can stay as a family. Most hotels can accomodate 1 child but not a
family of 4 without getting 2 rooms. Does anyone have any suggestions?

As helpful as it is literate.

Have you looked at using youth hostels? I haven't stayed at one as a
family, but I recall seeing "family rooms" advertised, and also being
surprised at how comfortable nordic YH are compared with what I
remembered from school trips to the Lake District etc.!!
