Default Luxury hotels in France

My lovely girlfriend and I are planning to go to Paris in March but we're
struggling to find a fab hotel and I wonder if anyone's got any ideas...

All the luxury hotels I've seen are grand enough, but they look like a
tarted up old person's house! What I'm looking for is plush, luxurious, but
less like my Nan's sitting parlour!

Anyone got any great thoughts?

The absolute best is the Georges V, and as a bonus, Fouquet's Cafe /
Braserie is right around the corner. Hmmm ... seems to me that
Fouquet's Hotel must be open by now, across the street from the Georges
V. They have been working on it since the last century ... Good news
stand on the sidewalk outside, too. And an English-language cinema,
although your time might be better spent in restaurants and museums ...
or bars?
