I would strongly recommend sticking to one place in each country and
spending four days there - or sticking to two countries and spending
four days in each of two places in each country. With four days per
country and two cities, including travel days, you will be on a train
or plane almost every day and hardly have time for even the major
tourist sights, let alone anything beyond that. Don't underestimate
how exhausted you will be from constant travel.
If you are traveling in early November, don't bother with a Greek
Island. It will be too cold to be enjoyable. November is not beach
weather there.
I also thought Athens is a dump (if you are interested in the ancient
world, the ruins in Rome are much more extensive and interesting than
in Athens) and Monaco is forgettable unless you are a Formula-1 fan.
Paris, Rome and Vienna are all incredible places, and you could easily
spend a week in any one of them. Venice and Florence are well worth
seeing. Salzburg is pretty, but I would make it a lower priority than
some of the other places you named. |
