Default Turkey package holiday

I have just remembered another couple of questions;

I was assuming that at a port like Kusadasi there would be a fish
market where I could buy fish and cook it myself. A friend who
frequenly goes to greece says that is rare. What is the chance of
being able to buy fish myself?

If I did hire a car or bike, and ended up getting stopped by the
police, is it the done thing to offer a bride? It was quite acceptable
in Morroco, but was warned against it in greece.

Thanks for any advice.

That is a very good point, and I shall check before I go. I have year
round travel insurance (from alliance + leiscter with my current
account), and a few years ago I read through the policy. From my
reading it seemed to exclude very little, so I am hopefull.

OK, I shall be very carefull. When I was in Morrocco I was stoped by
the police, and he just pointed to 400 at the top of one of his forms,
I gave him that much money (about 30 GBP IIRC) and he saluted me as I
drove off. Very pleasant way of dealing with the police.

I did, yes. I am fairly sure that is what he was expecting, maybe not
though. He pointed at the number at the top of the form, I gave him
that, he saluted me (that is a first).

I have to admit I was somewhat fritened, having heard all sorts of
stories about 3rd world policing. It turned out to be one of my most
pleasant interactions with "the man", and an experience to remember. I
was not in the slightest concerned about the money.
