| | Guest | Do Euros circulate freely in Slovenia? With Slovenia scheduled to join the Eurozone in January, do shops,
restaurants etc. accept them now, or am I going to need to convert to
Tolars? I'm coming from Italy, so life will be easier if I can just
carry my Euros over the border. | |

You can most likely pay in Euros, but your change will be in Tolars.
Very pretty coins, BTW, but not worth much.

Petrol and toll stations are definitely no problem. Bars/pubs will
probably take Euros, same goes for smaller shops. Bigger ones might
insist on Tolars though, but just use credit cards there. All the prices
are already shown in both Tolars and Euros on all bills and price lists.

Almost nowhere in Tallin would, despite the fixed exchange
rate.
In fact, I found more places in Helsinki prepared to accept
US dollars than in Tallin prepared to accept Euro.

The signs in the shops said otherwise.
