passport problem

I was about to book a ferry from Venice to Rovinj, but I noticed that
they were asking for passport numbers. My boyfriend just sent in his
old one to get it renewed, and I won't have his new number for another
month or two. The day I want to book is Sept. 12th. I guess what I'm
asking is -- how full are these ferries - especially since there is
only one sailing on that day at 5pm (17:00)? I guess I won't be able
to book for awhile. Thanks.

They're definitively not full in the period you wish to travel.

I suggest trying to make the reservation with all zeros or 9's.
When I'm asked for information that I do not yet have, like
the specs of a vehicle for a ferry, I've input dummy data to
complete the reservation, and its not been a problem. Then
tell them that there's a "correction" before sailing.

When I recently reserved Irish Ferries, I told them I would
be driving a Vauxhall with tag # "TBA." I showed up in a
VW Passat, and there were no questions. =R=
