Ulf,
Is northern Portugal's Portuguese more similar to southern Brazil's?
I'd have said "PRAH-sah doze HEST-to-ra-DO-rez" based on how my
Brazilian friends speak.

Yes and no. They do pronounce 'r' as 'r' in the beginning of a word in
Portugal.
