Default Train Station to Cruise Port in Venice

I see on Google Earth that the train station is close to the cruise
ship port but also a long swim. How does one negotiate from the train
station to the cruise ship terminal?

Hi!

It takes 15 minutes by foot to come to the San Basilio passenger terminal.
It is not far, however there are quite a few bridges and you have t owalk
over them A water taxi will cost you 100 EUR per ride. You can also take the
82 waterbus (called Vaporetto) and get there in about 20 minutes - much
cheaper (about 10 EUR per person).

Have a good trip.

100 Euro x 4 = 400 Euro @ 1.20 = $480US - couldn't I buy a used gondola
for that kind of money : ) Seems steep - should I get used to being
fleeced in the land of lamb?

You will pay about 5 Euro each for the vaporetto trip. Luggage can be a
bother though. You will probably want to get a vaporetto pass for the
duration of you visit anyway.

It is also quite likely that the water taxi 100 Euro is for the taxi for
the trip which would cover all 4 people. I'm not sure how much luggage
would fit though.
