I read about some problem with certain guests before. I found no problem
with getting beverages for breakfast although I have to say that the
breakfast was pretty basic stuff - very eastern European. I believe that
some hotel guests may have found the staff difficult. I smiled and they
smiled back. I always found that in Krakow there was some language barrier
but could usually make myself understood. Also in my opinion, it was not too
long ago that Krakow was effectively under communist control and every hotel
had a fairly typical eastern Europe style about it with a bloke lurking in
the shadows of the Hotel lobby keeping track of foreigners and what they
were doing ! yes it really happened. . Now this Pollera place has been going
for a very long time and they have seen all kinds of changes and possibly it
takes time to 'adapt' . If you want that the International Global kind of
style then there are Chain Hotels in Krakow such as the Sheraton near the
Wawel Castle. For me, I liked the 'feel' of Pollera and I didn't mind too
much the breakfast room. After all, if you want you can always venture
outside for breakfast ! Maybe take an option on breakfast, which is charged
separately anyway, and decide on the day depending on the night before ! |
