Default Can't Book Disneyland Hotel

We have been trying for about three months to book a room at the Grand
Californian Hotel for late January 2007. We've called and emailed
several times but each time we are refused, told they are not taking
reservations for after Jan. 1. No explanation is offered and they
cannot tell us when they will be able to take reservations. I've never
heard of such a thing! ANY hotel would take a reservation six months
out, it just makes no sense. We are DVC members to boot, and should be
able to book at any Disney hotel at this time. Needless to say we are
aggravated and more than confused. Has anyone else heard about this or
had a similar problem? Are they closing or something?!

Thanks
Cindi

Is your family black? That might be why.

I don't think it's a DVC or special-event thing. If you try to book a
room on the Disneyland Web site, it flat out tells you that they're not
booking any rooms for 2007 yet. If you call them, they tell you the
same thing. Not booking any rooms in any hotel after the end of this
year.

From what I understand Walt Disney Travel doesn't yet have the room rates
in the system. IF the rates aren't in, they can't book a room.

Unlike WDW, Disney doesn't book rooms (I don't think even room-only)
until they have the room rates. At WDW, you can book a room-only years
ahead, though not with a guaranteed rate.

Disneyland Paris is worse - sometimes it's only a few months out (often
that has been the case).

When rooms open up, you can book!
