1950's water fountains, cones floating on top of stream Could it have something to do with the Crane "bathroom of the future"
exhibit? I have a brochure from that one (it's in storage,
unfortunately), but I seem to recall that one of the photos shows some
kind of contraption that could possibly match what you describe. The
only problem is that I don't think it was outdoors....
