Thats too bad. The movie should reflect the ride, not the other way
around since the ride was WAY before the movie.

Well, they're trying to keep it fresh for current audiences. The movie
was very popular.

If all they're doing is putting a character into those spots without
changing the sound track in any way, its not such a big deal. The story
will be the same for those of us who enjoy the "classic" and those new
audiences who are looking for the characters will find them rather than
griping that they're not there. Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing Will
Turner standing on the street somewhere, but that's apparently not going to
happen.

I wouldn't mind seeing an effect where the flesh on the skeletons
appeared and disappeared as clouds passed over, as in the movie.

It would also be find to have Capt. Jack Sparrow jump into the boats
and stangle people who take flash pictures.
