Default Disney Trip: Best Beach

I'm taking the family in April (wahoo! First Disney trip in more than three
years!). We're going to be staying for five days, and I'd like to squeeze in
a trip to an ocean beach. Any recommendations/preferences for an LA-area
beach that is best for a family with young kids? All we're going to want to
do is pad around and wade -- no surfing, and no need for touristy
activities. Just a parking space, sand, and nice surroundings.

Suggestions? Favorites? Good/bad experiences to share?

Mahalo,

Lorem

directions....
..whats the easiest beach to get to from Dizzyland?

Where will I end up if I just head west on Katella?

Can you tell of a specific beach or two that are favorites -- and why?

Newport Beach is good, because it is clean and the water is relatively
nice. Laguna Beach is also nice.

Tidepools sound pretty good -- we'll have our two young kids with us.
