Visiting DL., need advice

My wife and myself will be visiting Las Vegas on 4/16 - 04/20, then
driving to DL for 4/20 -4/22, leaving on the 'Red-Eys' for Albany, on
the 22nd.

We will fly into Vegas, and out of California. We will get a rental
car in Vegas, and drop off at the airport in California. Has anyone
done it this way before? Any suggestions?

Any hotel suggestions for DL area?

Should we book via Travel Agent, or book everything on our own?
