Are they still there? It's been a few years but I remember them being
all around the bus stops and at each street crossing. Not the best way
to start/end a day at DL....

No, but as long as they are out on public property there isn't a thing
anyone can do about them except ignore them. Giving them anything is
only encouraging them to stay.

Didn't you know that the poor always beg outside kingdoms?

There is no excuse for not having a job. Fast food joints are always
hiring. I don't care if you are so-called over qualified, a job is a job.
It makes me sick all of these unemployed people almost on the streets
because they "can't find a job." People need to get over themselves and
realize, that there is no such thing as "I'm too good to work at (fill in
the blank here)". Money is money, and I would work scrubbing toilets before
being put out on the street.
Am I proud of working 8-10 hours a day? Well I am not sure if proud
is the word -- it's a reality. I am a responsible person. I don't
take hand outs and don't expect a free ride. So if that makes me
pride -- then yes.

Money isn't everything and most jobs aren't worth applying for. There
are far more interesting jobs than working at a fast food place
anyway.
