Tough one. Most CEO's wouldn't know creative if it bit them on the , so
the choice would be fairly limited. And Disney stockholders (the major ones,
anyway) would demand someone with experience, like Mikey, fresh from
reviving Paramount in the late 70's.
But since were essentially doing dream teams here, the following would be my
choices, strictly on being innovative and possessing leadership skills.
John Lasseter - good luck prying him away from PIXAR, but he has his inner
child calling the shots in Emeryville, and it works wonderfully.
George Lucas - anything to keep him from writing Star Wars Episode 3, given
his attempts on the previous two. He knows that things cost money, and the
more spectacular, the higher the cost--and the payoff, which is more people
spending money to go see it. Definitely a long-run strategist.
Joel Silver - He took a big risk with the Matrix and knows the value of
razzle-dazzle. Also, it would be cool to have a guy who's actually BEEN in a
Disney movie (Raoul Raoul in Who Framed Roger Rabbit).
Ron Howard - Yeah, this is really out of left field, but Opie has done very
well in several aspects of show business, the most remarkable is surviving
his child actor phase (so many others don't, sad to say). He has his own
production company, Imagine Entertainment and unlike many of his
contemporaries, has kept it going for nearly 20 years!. A maker of wise
decisions. And a Cocoon attraction would be a good fit in the old Submarine
pond.
Al Gore - He IS an Animatronic! ;-)
Hopefully, many of you out there know some actual CEO's out there who could
do a better job than Eisner. Get this thread going! |
