What are your Disney plans for the new year?
When are you going? Where are you staying? Has the economy made you
rethink your Disney plans? Have Disney specials convinced you to take
a trip?
I'm embarrassed to admit that I don't have any Disney trips in the
works. Thought about my birthday, but that's Presidents Day. I have
early June penciled in (anyone for that half-year RADP meet?) but I'm
not ready to book yet because we have some family issues that may
preclude that trip. The economy has influenced my plans only in that
I'll be shopping harder for good room deals. It's also made us think
twice about joining DVC.

1) When I can save enough money.
2) Depends on what I can afford.
3) No, but my dead dishwasher did.
4) Said specials have had no impact, all the other expenses in flife
beat Disney out.
Ah, but I still keep trying.

I don't think it's changed our minds yet. But we have a DVC points trip
planned in January
and probably will go the end of July for a couple days on points and 10 days
at Kidani Village using our Home DVC points. I do expect to see smaller
crowds. Our son has a couple of conventions to attend in Orlando and
we MIGHT go down to see him then but he's pretty busy with his booth
work.

I'm going on January 4th and 5th to get one last visit in before my AP
runs out.
Will not be renewing my AP right away.
May try to go on my birthday.
Would probably visit in June if The Queen makes an appearance.
Other than that, I will probably take this year off.
May even get a Universal AP when they offer one of their killer deals
through AAA.
I haven't been to Universal since Islands of Adventure opened! Maybe
it's time again.

Well, maybe Disney specials have never influenced your trip decisions
in the past, but I'm willing to bet that an AP burning a hole in your
pocket combined with really low AP room rates will result in an
unplanned trip.

I've been to Universal once ten or eleven years ago and wasn't
impressed enough to go back--I go mainly for atmosphere, not big
rides.
Once they get their Harry Potter thing going, I'll probably take
another look.

We were planning to go anyway for a family event. Disney's 7-for-4
offer convinced us to take them up on it and stay for a week.
Which raises a question - the package includes park tickets.
I didn't find an explicit statement, but I assume the tickets
will be waiting at the desk when we check in. True? I'll
probably eventually call them to confirm that.

Jan 28 - Feb. 07
staying for 7 nights at Best Western, Lake Buena Vista, booked 6 months ago
at $70 per night
bought US$ when the rate was 2$ to £1 so we have a great deal. used some
virgin points to get cheaper flights.
Staying at a Disney resort is far to expensive, we don't mind snacking in
the day, and eating off Disney in the evenings.
Still not booked hotel for our last 2 nights, but may aim for the
Swan/Dolphin, Sheraton Safari or the Doubletree at Universal, depends on
deals.
Might also be back in May for 1 week, as it is cheaper to travel to FL than
it is to stay in Europe. we would normally be going to Cyprus, Tenerife or
similar, but with the Euro/Pound being so bad, we will probably end up back
in FL.

Each year I say I won't go back. After each trip I say I will take some
time away from the Mouse. But then it beckons like sirens singing to a
lost sailor. I don't have any plans but odds are I will be there for
the Flower and Garden Show (especially if I can get a good price on AKL
or WL).

I have no plans to visit any Disney parks this year. The economy isn't
the reason, its that I already plan to take a trip to Europe, plus I am
going to Las Vegas next week. Disney World is one of my favorite places
to visit, but once every three or four years is enough for me.
