| | Guest | Uh oh Suddenly Ike is heading towards central Florida and looks to hit about
Wednesday. I'm due to fly to Orlando on Thursday.
Anyone have experience flying to Disney the day after?

| | Guest | Uh oh I'm going in about two weeks. When I booked the trip I didn't even
think about hurricanes/tropical storms. I've been looking forward to
this trip for a while. Hopefully I still get to go.

We have about 150 people flying in next week for my daughters Disney
Wedding, and we've been keeping a very close watch on the weather....We have
people flying in from Monday thru Friday with the wedding on Sunday, so I've
had my fingers crossed for a long time now that the weather is nice.....
another tidbit, I'm wondering what is going on at Disney next week. We've
had 75 rooms blocked at the Caribbean Beach for 6 months, and all rooms are
booked. Yesterday the wedding planner called, and said the resort was
completely sold out and all our guests are being sent to Saratoga Springs.
Nice for the guests, since it's a great upgrade, but I don't understand how
the resort is sold out, when we've had these rooms blocked for so long....

Were the rooms actually reserved with deposits paid or just "blocked"
as in being held for you in case your guests needed them? If they are
moving people who actually had reservations and paid their deposits,
that doesn't seem right. On the other hand, they are getting a great
upgrade for sure! | |

All the rooms are paid in full!

Resort rehab??
Blossom
They didn't tell us WHY, just that the resort was overbooked....the worst
part was everyone already has their luggage tags for the
Magical Express.....I'm sure there are going to be mix ups with that...

| | Guest | Uh oh I flew *out* of MCO the day after a hurricane... I was due to fly out
the day
Jeanne hit (2004?) - the airport was closed all day (my flight was
~5pm).
The height of the storm was early afternoon (and top wind gusts were
~60-70mph, I think). We were able to rebook our flight to the same
time
the next day.
By that time (~5pm) the worst of the storm was more than 24 hours
past
and we flew out on time.
I'm sure it just depends on how damaging the storm is and how long
after
the storm you're arriving (all of which are unknowns!)
good luck,
audrey

Same with us, my son was supposed to fly out of Orlando on Sunday
night while Jean was there. After being on hold for 3 hours with
Delta on Friday night, I got him switched to fly out of Orlando on
Monday night with no fees.
