| | Guest | Activities for a 4 year old boy My wife and I have been to the World 12 times in the last 12 years. We
are pretty comfortable planning a trip for our family. This year our
son is 4 1/2 and we want to make it about him, so we are staying at
the Pop instead of a deluxe and are looking for suggestions on what
special things we can do with him with the money we are saving. Going

Are the kids programs at the GF good?
We did Chef Mickey's last year and are planning some character meals.
We also did MNSSHP last year and will probably do that again (last
year he fell asleep waiting for the parade)
He's all boy, lots of energy, all about Pirates, Power Rangers, and
being the center of attention.

| | Guest | Activities for a 4 year old boy There are no rooms at the BC, YC, BW, Poly, Contemporary, or GF
available for our dates. We had to book late because of an uncertain
work schedule delaying vacation time being approved. So rather than
spend the money on the ?AKL or WL, we just went cheap with the
intention of using the money we save to do those other things.

Here are a few suggestions. 1. Don't underestimate the benefit of
"Kid Cot" Epcot stations. My kids love them, and of course as an
adult you enjoy the benefit of seeing kids learn something about world
countries as your kids complete the "masks" Age 4 is perfect for
this. 2. Don't underestimate the benefit of Magic Kingdom's "lesser
viewed" attractions including Tom Sawyer's island the the Caroussel of
Progress. In fact, I recommend buying a copy of the condensed Tom
Sawyer story from your local big box book store and then seeing how
your son reacts to the Injun Joe cave, etc. My kids love the MK
classics. 3. The Animal Kingdom's Asia Jungle Trek is a lot of fun
for kids, assuming the cast members still cover the various posts to
answer questions about the animals on display.

Well at POP Century, they have a jet-pop area near one of the pools
for kids to play in and a playground. Kids that age atleast my kids
loved riding the buses, monorail and boats around, and going
swimming. We always laughed about paying hundreds for admission to
the parks when the kids would always want to go swimming and ride the
monorail, buses and boats around and they are free--technically not
free because of resort room fees but you get my drift. I would rent a
pontoon boat from one of the MK Resorts or Downtown Disney, I heard
the Pirate Cruises for kids are good--I guess if you son is used to
being away from mom and dad it will be a fun activity, maybe send him
to a kids club so you can have a parents night out-some kids seemed to
have fun there---we never sent our kids so I can't comment on how good
the clubs are. Just go and have fun in the parks.

Why not check out one of the moderates? There are more recreational
activities available there than at the values. Better themed pools
too. Also, don't give up on the deluxes. People change and cancel
their ressies every day. Keep trying for one of the deluxes if you
might be more comfortable there! Or stay at a DVC resort and use part
of the money you're spending as your down payment to become members!!
