The article says Disney's looking "worldwide for restaurant and shopping
concepts." Okay, let's help them out: what restaurant and shopping
concepts should they put in Pleasure Island?

| | Guest | Disney closing all PI clubs Seriously - I'll sort of miss Mannequins, but it's not a place I hang
out. I just thought it was interesting (although not so much these
days as when it first opened.) But damn - the Ad Club and CW are my
homes. I've had a dream for 19 years to work at Ad Club someday. I
sure hope they find a way to hang on to these two concepts.

Unfortunately, someone would probably dig up "Soap Opera Cafe" being one
of DCA's earliest casualties... -_-

I plan on doing the same. I think that letting the Adventurer's Club
concept go would be such a waste. I've never heard anyone say that
they've been to a similar club anywhere else. It's entirely unique not
just in Orlando, but probably the entire country. I'm holding out hope
that maybe one of their new ventures will be an Adventurer's Club-
esque place, be it a restaurant or something else. But yes, Disney
will be getting a letter from me just so I can say how much I've
enjoyed it, and how I hope to see it reappear in some form at some
point in the future.

| | Guest | Disney closing all PI clubs I must confess that I don't spend all that much time at Pleasure Island
myself, but my first thought when I read this was "what is Sue going to
do?!!".
Is it really so bad that they have to get rid of all the clubs? Is it not
making money? Hubby and I aren't night owls, but if we were, I'm sure we'd
spend more time there. I still think it's a cool place, particularly AC
and CW, though honestly it won't greatly affect my own vacations. Bummer.

I'm depressed over this, and it might call for an emergency trip to
the World for one final visit to the Adventurer's Club. Anyone have
any idea how Disney is going to handle it? Can we hope for a final
party at the AC? Private? Cast members only? Or will it just be,
"Tonight's the last night... whatever." I'd like to be there the last
night and see Hathaway Brown and crew at the end.

| | Guest | Disney closing all PI clubs I'm really upset also!!! I'm going to work on a letter also.
I LOVE Adventurer's Club and really enjoy Comedy Warehouse. I've
stopped in the other clubs also, just to say I did it, but those two
clubs are my night time home most nights when I'm at WDW.

| | Guest | Disney closing all PI clubs Hi Steve (et al)
I just went to the WDW website and poked around - I think there was a
link at the bottom to send comments about the website, which had a
splash page to the effect of "if you have a general comment about WDW,
use this 'contact us' link" which is what I did. I will also probably
try to send something to the fellow in the news article at the basic
WDW address:
Kevin Lansberry (Vice President, Downtown Disney)
c/o Walt Disney World
PO Box 10,000
Lake Buena Vista, FL
32830
I wonder how many petition signatures it would take for them to
actually respond by saving the Ad Club?
