I agree, it is not a typical night club. But it is a bar at PI, it only
opens at night, it names itself a Club. And in the early years it was
open, it was THE place for the locals. Regular WDW guests didn't get it
for the most part, but the locals took to it like wild fire. The week I
was there in 1992, in the midnight sing-along in the library hosted by
the Maid and a member named Mendora, there was an arranged set-up that
got some girl on the stage in front of Fingers, the organ, and then
Mendora read a Wire from somewhere in the Land of the Eye Fore Indians
that was -in fact - a marriage proposal from her boyfriend in the
audience (she said yes).
But after 1994, I don't recall reading about AC still being a locals
favourite. However, starting about 1994 (when I first discovered RADP),
it seems Disney fanatics discovered the AC, and so it remained well
attended.

I think that is a great idea!

Actually Boardwalk doesn't have the transportation infrastructure in
place. If I were to stay at Jellyrolls till 2am closing, there would
no be no way for me to get back to Fort Wilderness or a Value resort
on the Disney bus system.

Carol,
It sometimes bothers me that Disney does not make this a little more obvious
BUT if you stop by the front desk on your way out and let them know that you
need a bus ride back to a WDW resort, they will call transportation and one
will arrive shortly. Well, the definition of 'shortly' is subject to
imterpretation but it is a rule in transportation that no guest staying on
property shall be stranded ever. And there are busses in standby (and vans,
and security guards (that like to make you think it's a major inconvenience
for them) in vans) all ready to rescue you at any hour of the night.
This does not explain why the BW is not better BUSSED and how much insisting
you might have to do with that CM who also does not know this policy but...
and if all else fails, I'll come and pick you up !

Does Universal in Orlando have the same issues ?? Me thinks the
general Disney high prices, economic depression and the lack of Euro-
visitors going killed PI.
9 PM EST is like 2 am or later to European visitors. Oh...and avoid I-
Drive...
"INTERNATIONAL DRIVE, 7500 block, 1:50 a.m. June 5, two people robbed
a man and a woman at gunpoint."
"INTERNATIONAL DRIVE, 9700 block, 11:11 p.m. June 8, someone attempted
to rob a woman.
WEST SAND LAKE ROAD, 7600 block, 3:39 a.m. June 10, two people robbed
a business at gunpoint." | |

This could be the Walgreens by Dr. Phillips Blvd.

Thats 8:39 am (or later) to Euro visitors who could be out looking for
breakfast if they are staying on I-Drive.
I normally awoke at 4:30 am in Hawaii, which is like 9:30 CST...JG

Don't you think that if Disney put a late night attraction at a resort,
they would make transportation to that destination feasible? If you
have open doors but no way for guests to arrive, then what is the point?
And as to a re-imagineered AC, why would it have to be late night only?
Away from the night clubs as its own self, it could open much earlier
and not be a night clubs. If I recall from Around the World in 80 Days,
the club depicted in that movie met in the daylight hours. Imagine the
fun that the characters could have with some of those midday pop-up
thunderstorms the area can get.

| | Guest | Disney closing all PI clubs I was told the Boardwalk was out of the question because there's not
enough parking in that area. I also believe (my own thoughts - not
based on talking to anyone who would/should know) that once PI is
closed, the DtD buses won't be running until 2am any longer! They
already stop the Marketplace buses when those shops close, so I would
imagine that will be the new ending time unless some stuff is actually
open past that.
