That is probably the best bet, for as much as I yearn to be there for
the final night, I want to be able to sit there and enjoy the shows
(and get into all of them) so maybe my last visit will be an idle
Monday night in early September. I dunno, honestly, this place was my
Mr. Toads Wild Ride.

I would not be opposed to this idea at all, even if it meant paying
dinner show prices to visit. I could see the club easily transitioning
into a dinner show. It would make a ton more money that way as well.

I think this would be a great idea. I'm not a bar hopping kinda gal myself
so PI has never been a big draw for me, but it seems a terrible shame to
let AC go by the wayside when it offers something entirely unlike anything
else. It's a creative idea, and that's Disney's bread and butter, so why
just junk it?

I thought the same thing Bashful about what would Sue do on her trips
to WDW since she visits the Comedy Warehouse more than the Parks. I
wish they would keep the Comedy Warehouse and The Adventurer's Club.
They are both unique and mosy cities have a Comedy Type Club. Maybe
the Boardwalk could get the Comedy Warehouse.

Maybe there is hope for Ad Club after all. A week or so ago Netflix
announced that it was dropping it's profiles feature from all
accounts. Lots of people were outraged because they've gotten so used
to using that particular feature to manage their queues. Today Netflix
reversed their decision. They said that due to the overwhelming
response they are going to leave the feature intact. Maybe Disney will
follow suit in regards to Ad Club. I honestly couldn't remember
hearing of any other company bowing to customer will anytime
recently... but the Netflix decision, while not directly related, it
is similar, gives me hope.

Remember to sign the petition and call or write your congressman! I
mean Disney... hehe.

Folks, insteadof deciding to throw in the towel and write this off as
a lost cause, if you are really feeling that you want the AC to stay,
take the time to write the folks within the WDW business tree with
your views. Be honest, don't be bitter, but, be straightforward in
the matter and express your positive views of the AC, why it is a
major draw for you, why your return trips to WDW won't be the same,
and, why you may not return to WDW due to the removal of this club.

The Orlando Sentinel is starting to do articles on the efforts to try
and save PI - yet, they aren't fully focusing on the fact that the
main effort is to retain the A.C. . There is a blog under the
business blog header relating to the grassroots effort (google:
Orlando Sentinel Blogs), if you are so motivated, write your views on
why the AC should be saved there. The point is to get the media aware
it is one club that seems to matter to most people who are involved in
the effort to retain this unique entertainment setting. The
spotlight needs to be on the AC and it's uniqueness, even to the point
of letting people know that families with children have readily been
welcomed there. There are countless points and personal stories of
Disney magic happening that can be related from visits to the
AC...these are what need to be brought forward.

Yes, it's a long shot with no guarantees. But, there will be no way
of knowing unless you try.

Just a thought.

Vully

I've been to City Walk and it's ok but what kept me coming back to
Pleasure Island was the Adventurers Club. I could write a love letter
to that place and probably will after my last visit in September. If
I ever do go back to Disney after September I will be staing at the
Hard Rock Hotel or somewhere else on Universal just so I am staying
close to the nightlife (makes getting home at 2 am much easier).

I wonder if the missing money of the nightlife crowd is even going to
register to them because it's not just PI drinks revenue for me, now I
no longer need a hotel there and more importantly I no longer need to
eat dinner at a nice place close to PI.

If Universal adds an Adventurers-Club-like venue to either Citywalk or
their upcoming Harry Potter offering, I'm there.

I have a friend who, after a trip full of frustrating Disney dining,
suggested that Disney deliberately gives popular areas such as the
Magic Kingdom inadequate food service in order to encourage visitors
to leave. So if Disney wants to encourage visitors to leave the Magic
Kingdom, they make sure that the only dining available in the Magic
Kingdom without a reservation involves long waits, tasteless
hamburgers, and inadequate dirty seating, in hopes that people will
leave to eat at the resorts or Downtown Disney. It's a bit tinfoilish,
I know, but when I see Disney's actions, it all seems to make sense.
