That may be so. But I still basically disagree that new or more
information has no bearing on a person's behavior. Not that there aren't
people like that! But people -- including, maybe even especially, children
-- have the capacity to learn and change their behavior based on what they
learn, and they do do that, even when the information comes from people or
groups or institutions or research that they have no emotional or social
connection to. But this discussion is getting far removed from Disney on a
Dime and jumping on beds, isn't it! :-)

And as I thought about what you had said -- human behavior -- I realized
that maybe you're talking more about human nature. It's just always fun to
jump on a bed, even though you know you might get hurt or damage the bed.
Knowing that doesn't make it less fun. It just makes it (maybe) a little
less likely that you'll do it. :-)

I agree with everything you've said but there are waterproof tiles and
waterproof grouts available. There are also additives for tile grout that
will make it waterproof. These materials should be used in bathrooms but
often aren't. You must have seen tile tubs and even tile swimming pools in
your travels.

oh puh-lease, talk abut the oprah-ization of America. "It's a dangerous
business, stepping outside of one's front door".
Nothing is to be gained from life without taking a risk on something,
even if it's jumping on a bed.

Last night my husband and I watched Disney on a Dime and was shocked
to see the parents of those two girls allowing their children to jump
on the beds at Pop Century...
Okay, I don't want to join the arguement about whether or not kids should
jump on beds, but I just have to share something:
The day after I first read this post, I was listening to the radio, and
they have this "trivia question of the day", where they give away a
prize. That day's question was:
Q: "What do 70 percent of parents let their children do on vacation that
they won't allow at home?"
A: "Jump on the beds."
I couldn't believe it! I mean, not so much the answer, but the timing of
the question. Just had to share.
