Default Heat Rash - any tips?

Hi,

Our 6 year old daughter got bad heat rash on her arms last time we
were at Disney which was last April. She just got another small case
of it yesterday and it wasn't even that hot out.

I'm worried that this is going to be a big problem again this year. I
forgot how bad it was last year but yesterday reminded me about it.

Anyone have any remedies that help?

Thanks in Advance

Steve & Carol

3 days to go until AKL!!!!

My daughter uses a lotion called Sarna. Most drug stores carry it (we
get it at CVS). She puts it on in the morning and at night. It seems
to help the heat rash she gets on her arms. It's more of a anti-itch
lotion, but it does keep her skin moist and cool. The lotion contains
no steriods.

It seems to come when the sun is strong. Of course, it's hot out then
as well, but I think it is more from the sun than from the heat.

Might I also suggest corn starch baby powder, you can get it in all
different small sizes, perfect for carrying along! You could also bring
along some small round makeup poofs to dab it on instead of rubbing. Keep
it all in a ziploc so you don't cover the insides of your bag!

Ellen :)

All the other comments in this thread can be used with caution. If you are
not sure what is causing the rash it is time to talk to a Dermatologist
about it. While most skin conditions are benign and won't cause long
lasting issues, some can become severe with repeated exposure to the cause
of the condition.
