| | Guest | Water delivery to your room at WDW Hi everyone... I have read in the past that you could get a place
like Staples, or whatever, to deliver items to your resort, and they
will hold it for you for up to 2 weeks. We're going to WDW early May,
staying onsite, and we are big bottled water drinkers. I'm thinking
of getting a case of water delivered to the resort so we have it for
the duration of our visit. We don't want to pay the ridiculous Disney
prices for a bottle of water each time we are thirsty. We also don't
want to have to jump in a cab to go to Publix. We will be trapped on
site (not a bad thing) since we are taking ME to/from thge airport.
Has anyone used any delivery service that would specifically deliver
water, and has it been stored safely by the resort until you arrived?
Thanks in advance for your replies!!

| | Guest | Water delivery to your room at WDW I don't know about the cost of having it delivered from somewhere down
there but could you buy some at home and then send it to yourself at
your resort via UPS or FedEx? I have no facts as far as prices go but
I'm just throwing that out there as a suggestion.

A place like Staples or Office Max will deliver a case of water for
about $7.00 since they are local. I'm willing to pay that price. I
think FedEx or UPS would charge more as the weight of a case of water
is pretty heavy. Thanks for the suggestion though!!

Hey, Patty!
We do the same thing all summer! I even tip the bottle at an angle when
freezing so that it's not one solid lump at the bottom of the bottle. When
at WDW, I bring a bottle with an insulated cover and strap for each of us,
that way it's easier to carry around all day. Also, you can ask at ANY
counter service throughout all the parks, and they will gladly give you cups
of ice. The cubes are small enough to fit into the tops of the bottles. We
then refill the water from the fountains, and we have cold water all day!
Last trip we didn't bring those bottles, but I packed bottle straps that I
got from AllEars.net years ago, they fit onto any water bottle, and we did
the same thing with the ice and fountain water buying just one bottle for
each of us on that trip.

There's been some good advice in this thread. Here's another idea.
To avoid the cost of shipping and delivery and avoid the sulfer taste/
smell of Orlando water bring a few bottles with you as well as one of
those pitchers with a Brita (or brand of your choice) water filters
built in. Then you can refill the bottles with water you might like
better than the local tap. Depending on how good the filter is and
how sensetive your tastes are it might be a good option. Something to
consider anyway. | |

"A pint's a pound the whole world round"
A gallon of freshwater weighs 8 pounds. That case of water is going
to weigh 30 pounds (24 bottle per case, 20 oz per bottle). For UPS
ground, that's going to run in the neighborhood of $18, depending on
distance. | |

| | Guest | Water delivery to your room at WDW You can get free delivery of the water from Staples if your order is
over $50, so lots of folks have suggested ordering an ink cartridge
for your printer or something small that you need anyway to bring the
order over $50, then toss the extra item in your checked luggage for
the trip home.

The way my luck goes, TSA would probably pull me aside and ask me
about the "device" they found in my bag and give me a full arm of
cavity search. | |
