Default POFQ or Swan?

Hello RADPers. Planning on 5 days 4 nights at WDW the end of May /
beginning of June. I currently have reservations for POFQ but I just
found out that I can get a government rate at the Swan for about the
same price. I really like the idea of the Swan's location but I've
read some mixed reviews.

For those who have experience with both, can you share your
suggestions?

Thanks,

Mark B

The food and the location is better at the Swolphin, but I think the
atmosphere is better in the French Quarter. Also, the Swolphin does
not offer Magical Express, so figure that into your calculations.

Swan's a non-Disney hotel--
So although you get transportation and some resort-guest status, there's
not AS much of an on-property Disney feel to the theming and service as
you get at the official Mods...

OTOH, how often do you get boat service to Epcot, and Fantasia Gardens
in walking distance, for POFQ prices? :)

In response to this, I agree that the Port Orleans French Quarter is a
great hotel. Everything is themed for Mardi Gras and there is food
right on location. You aren't too far from everything, and you can
catch the bus. My husband and I spent one week there for our
honeymoon, and we really enjoyed it.

That was another great thing about WDW - having the packages sent to
your hotel!
