The closest approximation would be WDW's Space Mountain. Similar track style
and cars. In fact, when they were building Space Mountain (Disney's first
version), they used the Matterhorn as a basis for their design. Though the
track layout is different.

It's a steel-rail coaster, I believe the first ever; it's a bit bumpy
but as newer coasters go, fairly tame. A great ride, in my opinion.

| | Guest | Matterhorn? It's two basic roller coasters. I would say that it's more like a big
version of Thunder Mtn than Space Mountain. You don't go backwards
and there's no huge drop but both sides are a lot of fun.

Hi Bianca,
Did you check out the YouTube videos of the ride? I'm kind of a ride
whimp, but it looks like I could definitely handle this one. One of
the things I use as a guide is the kind of restraints that are worn.
Looks like the Matterhorn has some webbing lap belts, and that's it.
Works for me. I don't go on anything with over-the-shoulder restraints
- that's my indication that the ride is too extreme for my tastes.

I rode it when I was 8 back in 1978 and loved it. I haven't been back
to DL since. I DO remember my Mom would wet herself EVERY time we rode.
