| | Guest | YoMD Postcard Question I have seen where several people are sending in postcards. Can you
share the information with me or a URL where I might find the info on
restrictions etc? The info needed, the address, the limit of
postcards, any age restrictions?
Thanks in advance. I think my family would have fun doing this
together.

| | Guest | YoMD Postcard Question I have benn sending and someone here gave me a good tip:
Use mailing labels for the Disney address but you must hand write your
info. Write your information on the back "longways" so it is not
confused with the "TO:" address and sent back to you. I have received
3 hats as prizes.

As far as handwritting, the new rules/2008 say "Handwritten" the old
rules don't.
Also if you use my software to generate the cards. It generates all
the mailing info including the Facing Identification Mark (FIM-A) and
the Postnet bar code.
I've gotten 2 lanyards and several hats.

| | Guest | YoMD Postcard Question Thanks everyone for the info. I've read and reread the rules and the
way I'm reading it, my 7 year old can enter...is that correct? She
wants to fill in her own postcard...It doesn't say anything that I
read about minors not being allowed to enter. It states some rules in
case a minor wins so I'm guessing it is ok to let her fill in the
postcard?
Love the postcard generator btw!

| | Guest | YoMD Postcard Question My read of the rules is everyone in your household can enter once per
day. And yes, as long as you are willing to take on any/all tax
obligations of your 7yo winning, and willing to let them do it (ie
they have your permission.) Then I think it's okay.
Other thing about the rules, it takes about 3 months for prizes to
show up. First off they batch up the cards every day, then they do
LAST MONTH's drawings on the 20th of this month (so on or about 20 Oct
they will do all of September.) And they do them by day, so some days
they have more to give-away than others. Also once the pick the names
they have something like 5 weeks to get you your prize, which comes
by registered mail.
So cards they get on 1 Oct, will be processed 20 Nov, and you'll see
sometime around christmas. There is a lot of lag for a 7yo.

Yeah, that's been my assumption, too. To date, I've won two (or maybe it was
three, I've only kept one and gave the other(s) away) of the Dream Mickey
ears, and two pin lanyards. But I also have not seen anything since at least
May.
And now my supply of the USPS pre-stamped postcards has run out. The main
post office in my city recently removed the vending machine that sold
packets of 5 postcards as one of the selections. Now I either have to try
and get to the post office first thing in the morning before work, or order
them through the USPS website.
And here I was thinking I only had a couple more months of doing the
postcards... ;-)
