Default Preferred VIP Illuminations Viewing or Gift Basket

I had a small problem with my last reservation at a Disney Resort and
Guest Services has offered me either a gift basket or the preferred
viewing of Illuminations. Any suggestions on what would be the best

Personally, I would always take the preferred viewing. Gift baskets,
you can buy if you really want one, and it will have stuff in it you
want/eat.

Regardless of the time of the year. It's fun to walk up and give
your name have everyone else look at you like, "why are you so
special?"

One time we got to watch finding nemo the musical from the VIP
seating, why because we HAPPENED to tell the show manager (some of the
puppets for the show where out, at MK and he was the one we stopped to
ask why) we came to the park a lot, and tried to get into the show but
hadn't queued up soon enough. He got on his Blackberry and put our
names in for VIP seating the next day.

Definitely the preferred viewing of Illuminations. I hate spending
so much time hanging out to get a good spot to watch the
Illuminations. We've even took an Illuminations cruise once to get a
front row seat.

Which would be more valuable to you..... something tangible that you
can touch and maybe keep a portion of? OR a memory that lasts as
long as you treasure it?

Of course, you could just flip a coin.

Why not hold out for "being allowed to make a reservation at a WDW
restaurant of your choosing"?

Does anyone know what's included in a Disney gift basket? Is it just
like any other gourmet gift basket you'd find anywhere, or might it
contain some special Disney-only stuff?

I'd probably pick the basket, just because of my own curiosity. I've
been able to find great Illuminations viewing sites, without too much
effort. Nice to be treated as a VIP now and again, though. So, I get
the appeal of the preferred viewing, too.
