Patty,
I bought my stock many years ago when the price was much higher than it
is now. It hasn't come back up. It is in my Grandson's name because he
loved Disney so much.

I think Keane raises some great points.

First - what one person might not like another might love. I, for one,
have stayed at just about every WDW hotel over the years, and mostly
stay at either ALL STARS or POP CENTURY, mostly because I just use
them for sleeping usually. I enjoy the better hotels, but don't really
utilize them enough to make staying there more than once in a while
worthwhile.

Second - those of us here on this forum do in fact go to WDW more
often than the average person, and can see the little things that the
one time visitor would not. Sometimes, try to see it through their
eyes ... hard as that might be,

Finally - and as much as we hate it - Disney is a publicly owned
corporation, not the family business that Walt and Roy oversaw. Their
ONLY purpose in reality is to make money for the shareholders - of
which I am one. AS much as we (and I do it as well) can sit here and
say that they need to make less money and pour more into the parks, we
have to remember that there is a responsibility to shareholders, most
of which only care about the bottom line. For the company (parks) to
be run the way we would like to see it, it would basically have to be
privately owned by someone who cared more about the history and
tradition than the bottom line, and I don't ever see that happening
again.

Yes, you can - and I have - argue that putting more money in the parks
will increase their value and hence the value of the stock, but that
is a rather naive take on the real world. And yes, I have along with
most here, that naive hope,

Mark

$43.63 4/12/2000, intraday high.
To buy it at the high on this day is unlikely.
Since then the stock has also paid $1.66 in dividends.

I'm seeing WDW go the way of the Disney Store--something busy and
colorful that appeals to the least discriminating of the kidlets. I no
longer bother to stop at the Disney Store when I go to the mall.

The highest I bought it at was $41 ... the lowest $16.

Average about $26,

I notice more and more negative posts lately. Buses, Value Resorts,
Restaurants and several other issues.

I've reported my disappointmens lately and I wondered if I was the only
one who felt that way.

My husband and I enjoyed the sit down restaurants for many years. Now it
seems some of those we liked are devoted to character meals. Most of
the rest have not improved their menus or service and, in fact, have
gotten worse. Has anyone counted the number of shops in the parks? And
also on the outside? Marketing is BIG BIG BIG business and yet my
Disney stock is stagnant and has been for several years. So where is all
the profit going?

One of my party on our trip last week walked out of EPCOT after 10 minutes. Said it was nothing but a
glorified shopping mall. Actually I agreed with him (but I stayed).
