| | Guest | Blizzard Beach in November? water temp? We're planning a trip with our 3 younger kids to Disney in Nov. We
didn't add the water park option on to our tix and now we're wondering
if we should have. I know that Blizzard Beach is the only park that
will be open. Have any of you ever visited in the winter months? How
is the water temp? I know that the air temp will be anywhere from 65
to 80, so it's hit-or-miss for swimming weather. We've visited this
time of year in the past and the kids go in the pools, but sometimes
they don't last as long as they would if the water was warmer. Is it
worth the trip to the waterpark?
Also, do you know if I can add the water park option on once we check-
in and see how the weather forecast looks for the week? I've figured
out that the cost of one-day tix for our family is about $177, versus
unlimited trips for $220 if we add on the water park option.

Did they reverse things this year? When I was there in November last
year, only Typhoon Lagoon was open.

The pools and slides and lazy river are all heated at Disney's water
parks. Water temperature is a constant, not affected by the coolness
of the surrounding air.

Absolutely. Other than being a little colder when you get out of the
water, there's nothing at all wrong with going to the water parks in
the cooler months. Not to mention that the water parks will be
significantly less crowded in Novemeber than they would be in the
summer. Besides, what's better than being able to call your friends
back home in the middle of November and say "We just went to a water
park!!"? (when I did this, my friend responded, "%&#!! you. I just
shoveled my car out of the driveway!")

Yes you can. Any time before your tickets expire, you can add more
days, add the park hopper option, add the Water Park Fun & More
option, or add the No Expiration option. Just go to Guest Services or
the ticket windows at any of the parks, Downtown Disney, or the water
parks.

Er, not quite. It's not unlimited trips. You get a number of
admissions to the Water Parks, Pleasure Island, and/or Disney Quest,
based on how many days of theme park admission you have. If your
tickets are for 1, 2, or 3 days, you get three admissions. 4 or 5
days gives you four admissions. 6 days gives you five admissions, and
7, 8, 9, or 10 days gives you six admissions.

| | Guest | Blizzard Beach in November? water temp? Thanks, Paul. It's great knowing that we have the flexibility to
change the tickets once we arrive. Thanks for the correction on the
unlimited trips. We're getting a 7 day pass, so going to the water
park 6 days out of the 7 we're there seems like unlimited to me,
though I understand your point.
MousePlanet is showing that TL is closed for refurbishment Oct 28 to
Jan 5, while BB closes Jan. 6, '08. I think they do alternate each
year which park they close first.

Just remember you can also use those six admissions to go to Pleasure
Island and/or DisneyQuest (or Wide World of Sports, but I've yet to
hear anyone explain why I'd want to go to WWoS).

Our usual travel time is the first two weeks in January. We've seen
everything from perfect swimming weather to brrr-where-are-the-sweatshirts?
weather. The water is heated, so its always comfortable. Do NOT get taken by
the lady selling unlimited refill mugs on the way in. You will stash that
mug in a locker and never see it again until you leave!
Also, I can't remember if you have to bring your own towels, so check on
that before you go.

I should have been more specific. I meant that no one has ever given
me a reason to go to WWoS when a non-extra-fee event is happening.
Neither the Braves nor the Buccaneers events are included on the Water
Park Fun & More option.
I'm saying I don't know what there is to do at the WWoS that is
covered by the standard $11 admission. Professional activities that
require a much higher charge notwithstanding.

You can rent towels for $1/towel at the same little building where you
can rent a locker.

The Snorkel with Sharks pool is considerably colder than the others, and is it just me or is the lazy
river a fair bit colder than the main wave pool?
Those refill mugs are a good deal on a hot day, or if your kids constantly require you to go buy
drinks for them. Otherwise you probably won't want to drink enough to make them worth while. And they
work for picnics when you get home.
