| | Guest | And if it quacks like a Dream... hi all,
I recently returned from WDW (10 days in mid June - TR to come,
really!) and wanted to tell you about some major pixie dust that came
our way. We were not the recipients of a Dream (no Dream Squad),
but a seemingly "unofficial" Dream (the lucky recipient of a CM's
largesse?)!
My family and I had been on vacation with two other families, one
of whom is retired military, so we were able to stay at Shades of
Green. Because of flight differences, we were staying an extra
day at WDW. I had made arrangements to stay one night at
Yacht Club (tried to get Beach Club, but I couldn't get a AAA
discount on the day we needed). I reserved a std room - no view.
When I arrived (my friend dropped me and my family's luggage
off), the bellman was shocked at the trunkful of luggage I came
with for "a one night stay"! When I went inside to check in,
there was no one ahead of me. I asked if any rooms were
available (the bellman said that the hotel was not that full), but
none were. I did ask where "about" our room would be (I hoped
to have a room not far from the lobby) and he showed me that
it was right near the lobby (yay!). Then he explained that we
were to get a 5th floor room on the concierge level! Double
Yay! I was so excited, I was thanking him like crazy.
He gave me my keycards and a phone number to call for
our room number.
I was meeting the rest of the family (DH, DS (15) and DD (12))
at Le Cellier for lunch. We had a fine lunch and I called the
hotel afterwards to check if the room was ready. It was, and
DH went, while the rest of us shopped a little.
The kids and I were at the hotel not long after DH, and we
made our way up to the concierge level and saw DH, who
had been to our room, so led us there. We went in and
saw a light, airy, spacious room that overlooked the pool.
Then, DH told us to check out this closet (though he pointed at
an adjoining door). We opened it to see a sitting room! We
had been upgraded to a suite! DS immediately plopped down
on a sofa opposite an armoire with TV and DVD player. The
sitting room had a wet bar and a marble tiled entry!
Then, DH told us to check out this *other* closet (and he pointed
at another adjoining door)! We opened it to see a master
bedroom (King bed!) suite with a marble tiled bathroom as big
as my kid's rooms back home. There was a jacuzzi tub, a
separate shower, a toilet room, 3 closets and a double sink
vanity with a wall mounted TV!
We had been upgraded to the Commodore's Suite! We were
so excited. My daughter ran around the rooms trying to take in
everything. I hurriedly tried to tidy the rooms back up (hiding
backpacks) so I could take pictures. My sneaky DH had led
us into the 2nd entry (not the formal, tiled entry into the
sitting room) into the 2nd bedroom.
The 4 of us had 3 bathrooms, two showers, 4 TVs, 5 closets,
1 King and 2 Queen beds and 3 rooms between us. We felt
like staying and enjoying this room the rest of our stay, but
we did head out to eat dinner (though DH and I enjoyed the
evening snacks they put out) and watch fireworks.
We sat on the balconies (there were two) and read. DD and
I soaked our feet in the jacuzzi tub (though we couldn't
figure out how to make the jets work) and watched TV in
the bathroom.
What a wonderful, unexpected and amazing Gift of a lifetime
for us - who could have guessed? I am definitely sending
a letter of praise for the CM who made this possible for us!
And what a great way to end our trip to WDW (first since
2001!).

As soon as I can figure out where and how, I'll download them.
Any recommendations as to websites? | |
