I just think Disney is having another record breaking year. Their
marketing right now is pure genius. Absolutely everywhere I go this
year, I hear people talking about going or having just come back. The
cashier at Wal Mart yesterday said she's going this weekend with her
whole extended family, staying off site. I saw a trip report here
that said second Friday in June, at 11 a.m. the lines to get from the
parking lot at the Magic Kingdom onto the monorail or ferry to the
parks was backed up several dozen yards, and he estimated it would
take about 30 to 45 minutes just to get onto the transportation. I'm
definitely scaling back my expectations for our trip this July/August.
I've stayed at the cabins a few times. If you won't have a rental
car, ask to be close to a bus stop or you could have a bit of a hike
from your cabin, but other than that, I love that resort! It really
feels like you're relaxing somewhere away from it all, when you come
"home" from the parks.
The buffet restaurant at the front by the MK boat dock is fairly
inexpensive for Disney and the food is decent. You will of course
have a full kitchen, and there are some basic groceries available at
the gift shop up by the MK boat dock.
There's a nice FAQ, tour, and links at allearsnet.com.
