| | Guest | FINALLY!! Thanks to all those who helped. To recap, back on 1/28/07 I posted asking
for advice on taking a big group to Disney, and I got a lot of great advice.
As a result, our family (14 in all) is finally going to Disneyworld. We'll
be going from November 23rd through December 2nd and staying at Coronado
Springs.
I'm a little nervous about what we should plan, but mostly I'm excited. I'm
hoping to (in order to keep everyone amped about this until we go) send
weekly emails showing all the things we're going to do. I'd like to tailor
each email to a specific person, but I need help with the research. The
people I'm going with enjoy (age and gender in parentheses):
Beer (65m)
Cigars (42m)
Princesses (9f)
Dancing (38f)
Tanning/Beaches (38f)
Thrill Rides (37m, 40f)
Cars (69m)
Family Moments (65f)
Christianity (65f)
Sports (9m)
Music (32f)
Cooking (50m)
and one 4yo boy who's never been before :-).
Any ideas about any/all of the above, and what each of these folks might
enjoy?
Also, for large parties, what should I be looking at for planning. I know
about the Hoop-Dee-Doo review, but that's about it. Are there other options
available to us?
Thanks again, everyone - it's a little scary planning for everyone!

| | Guest | FINALLY!! Don't forget that, with a group as large as yours, if everyone wants to dine
together at a table service restaurant, you should probably go through group
sales to make your reservations instead of the regular dining reservations
line.

Also Caribbean Beach has beaches (with hammocks, last time I went). And Typhoon Lagoon has sand... | |

Come on now, that's just blatantly not true. I happen to have my
theme park maps right here in front of me.
Epcot: 23 smoking areas
Animal Kingdom: 9 smoking areas
Disney/MGM: 12 smoking areas
Magic Kingdom: 10 smoking areas

| | Guest | FINALLY!! Resorts are not the theme parks. Both these posters are correct.

I can't see how Julie's statement could be interpreted as saying that
there are 3 areas in each resort, and an unknown quantity in each
theme park. Seems pretty clear she's claiming each theme park has
about three. Perhaps you can clarify what parsing of that statement
yields those results?

The biggest problem with a large group trying to do stuff together
is........someone ALWAYS has to pee.
Having 13 people wait while 1 person goes to the bathroom is a waste of
time.
I would try splitting up into 2-3 groups and meeting at certain times for
meals.

| | Guest | FINALLY!! Whether you are a smoking Nazi or a non-smoking Nazi, you need to chill out.
Julie posted information about smoking in the*resorts*, someone else was making a comment about
smoking areas in the *Theme Parks*. The two places are not the same thing.
