| | Guest | Alfredo's closing Hurry up and get to WDW by August 31 if it's your favorite
restaurant. The contract runs out with Disney on that day, but Disney
is trying to get another Italian restaurant in there. Just saw this
posted today on allears.

Good, get a real Italian restaurant in there and make it Sicilian, I'm sick
to death of Tuscan style Italian restaurants.

Me, I've always wanted to try Mama Melrose's at MGM, except that their
Italian is too Californian, with flatbreads all over the place--
Seems like the only other place to get some tomato and olive-oil-laden
Italian is Tony's at MK, and, well...were we picking on Alfredo's??

| | Guest | Alfredo's closing When we were there 3 years ago it was ok, but we never went back, so it
isn't hurting our feelings at all. We are trying Mama's and Tony's our next
trip, so maybe we will be sorry to see it go. However my brother and SIL
love it and go each time they visit Disney, I'm sure they will be highly
disappointed. > Hurry up and get to WDW by August 31 if it's your favorite

I'm not well enough versed to know the difference, but....our last
time there really became out last time. It seemed overpriced, ordinary
food. Also, for us, the setting matters, and it was so crowded I had
to keep pulling my chair up to the table so waiters and other patrons
could get by. And, of course, the unacceptably close quarters resulted
in such a din, we had to contribute to it to hear each other. Not my
idea of an enjoyable meal. So, whatever the reason, we look forward to
another restaurant there, as we love eating around the world in EPCOT.

At one time it was a favorite but not for 4 or 5 years.
We usually skip it now. | |

One thing I'm sure of, being part of the Italy Pavilion, it will be
"Italian" food of some sort :)
Maybe Disney could make a sponsorship agreement with Chef Boyardee?
LOL

| | Guest | Alfredo's closing When EPCOT first opened, we loved Alfredo's but now their menu - like
so many others in Disney - has been reduced so badly that it is
nothing like it was. We were there about a year ago for the first time
in years ... and for probably the last.

| | Guest | Alfredo's closing I went there once, long before Disney was all non-smoking. I was
travelling alone, asked for a non-smoking table, waited 45 minutes,
and fifteen minutes into my meal, the section was apparently turned
into a smoking one, as people at the next table lit up, and the staff
did nothing to change the environment (either correct them or move
me), or offer any make-goods (These days I would just walk out).
I have not been back inside since, even thought I spend a week a year
in EPCOT. | |
